Borotron® UH015 High molecular weight polyethylene is enhanced with 1.5% elemental boron, making this material a superior solution in nuclear and medical applications requiring extreme shielding. Thermal neutrons can be absorbed by the high hydrogen content of UHMW-PE in this material, and then absorbed by the enhanced boron compound.
For these reasons, Borotron® UH015 UHMW-PE components are prevalent in the nuclear and medical technology industries.
